Privacy Policy
This policy explains how ScamCheck Nepal collects, uses, masks and protects information.
Data We Collect
Account details (name, email, mobile, location), report content, evidence files, and technical logs (IP address, timestamps) needed for security and abuse prevention.
Visitor Statistics
To understand how the site is used we count page views with our own server-side analytics. It uses no cookies and no third-party script. For each page view we keep the page address (never your search terms), the referring website name, your browser, device type and language, a shortened IP address (the last part is removed) and a visitor code that changes every day and cannot be traced back to you. Staff visits are excluded, and visitors who send a Do-Not-Track or Global Privacy Control signal are not counted. These statistics are deleted automatically after a limited period (90 days by default).
Server Logs and Security
Our servers write error and security logs (for example failed sign-in attempts) that include IP addresses. They are used only to keep the site secure and are deleted after a short retention period.
Searches. When you check a phone number, account or website, we record what was searched, its type, whether a match was found, your account and your IP address. This is used to prevent abuse and to produce statistics. It is visible only to authorised staff, is never shown publicly, and is deleted automatically after 90 days by default. The same record is used to apply a fair-use limit (by default 5 different searches per account in any 24 hours) so that look-ups cannot be used to harvest information in bulk.
Cookies and Advertising
Essential cookies. We set a session cookie so you can stay signed in and so forms are protected against forgery. It does not track you across other websites.
Advertising. Guides on this site may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners, as third-party vendors, use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, including ads based on your earlier visits to this and other websites, and to measure and prevent abuse of ads. When you first visit, a banner lets you accept personalised ads or decline them; if you decline, only non-personalised ads are requested. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link in the page footer.

- Manage or turn off personalised ads: adssettings.google.com
- Opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies: aboutads.info
No ads are shown on report forms, account pages, search results or pages about a specific phone number, account or business, and we never share the content of reports with advertisers.
Android App
The Android app is this website opened in a full-screen window using your phone's Chrome engine. It asks for internet access only, and does not read your contacts, location, photos or files; a photo or file is shared only when you choose it as report evidence. Everything described in this policy applies to the app exactly as it does to the website, and you sign in with the same account.
Privacy Minimization
Public pages show masked identifiers only (e.g. 98******67). Full identifiers, victim identity, addresses, citizenship/NID numbers and private evidence are never published publicly.
Data Subject Rights
You may request access, correction, or removal of your personal data through our Data Subject Request portal. Each request receives a case ID and is reviewed by a human. You can also write to us through the Contact page.
Retention
Retention periods are configurable by platform administrators and described in our Retention Policy. Legal holds override normal retention schedules.
