1. Search every identifier you were given. Check the phone number, bank account, wallet, website and social profile on the home page. Scammers often reuse several together.
  2. Verify the person independently. Find the business through a channel you trust, not only the link or number they sent. Ask for a live video call and a visit to the shop where possible.
  3. Question the price and the urgency. A price far below market, "only today" pressure, or a refusal to let you inspect the item are classic warning signs.
  4. Protect the payment. Prefer cash on delivery, in-person payment or a protected method. Be very cautious about advance payments, "delivery fees" and "refundable deposits".
  5. Keep every record. Screenshot the advertisement, profile, chat and receipt. Save URLs and transaction IDs. See what to do if it goes wrong.
  6. Report suspicious activity. A report helps the next person. Use Report a Scam, and file an official complaint with Nepal Police Cyber Bureau if you lost money.

Remember: no reports found is not a guarantee. This checklist reduces risk; it cannot remove it.
